Secrets to Affordable Fashion for the Frugal At Heart

Secrets to saving on fashionable clothing and building your closet to save you money.
Affordable Fashion for the Frugal at Heart

Are you into style and fashion? Do you follow the latest clothing trends?  Your personal style is an awesome form of self-expression.

Fashion and personal style have always been one of my passions. As a girl, I was intrigued when my mother wore a pretty dress or grandma applied her favorite shade of lipstick. They were always so beautiful and inspiring!

With that being said, I don’t like paying high prices for items that will quickly go out of style and sit in my closet until I decide to do a closet purge. (I don’t like paying high prices for anything for that matter.) So when shopping for more stylish items, I have my go-to stores.

I like following fashion trends and looking cute like the next lady; however, I have not always had the money to support this habit. Therefore, I had to become crafty with my shopping. Today, I’m going to share my secrets & suggestions with you. I will describe how to own a stylish wardrobe on a budget.

10 Ways To Stop Spending Like You Are Rich

How To Stop Spending Like You Are Rich

Sure it would be fun to spend like a millionaire! We could buy a new Birkin bag (or for guys the latest Rolex), however, the truth is many millionaires are very frugal.  This is how they became millionaires in the first place. They know the value of a dollar.

Nonetheless, it is easy to become obsessed with the latest and greatest style, toy, gadget, etc. (insert whatever you love to buy here…)  Yet, if you are trying to save and contribute to retirement and emergency fund, this is counterproductive.

In today’s post, I’m going to give you a list of ten ways to learn how to curb spending.  Even if you aren’t buying big-ticket items like an Ipad, all the small ticket purchases add up.  Try writing your spending down for one week and see how much that morning coffee, a tube of lipstick and two dresses from the mall costs you. You will be surprised at the total.

What is a Split-Meat Meal? Eating on a Budget – Spaghetti & Tacos

SPLIT MEAT MEALS – Eating on a Budget

Split Meat Meals- Spaghetti & Tacos
Split Meat meals – Spaghetti & Tacos

What is a split meal? Do you often cook dinners on a budget?  If so, my split-meat meal idea is perfect for you! Make your spaghetti and tacos this week, using only one package of meat!

Split meat meals are great for families trying to save money on food and stay healthy. You are using half the meat for both meals and filling yourself up with other items such as vegetables or bread.

I started my split meals when my husband was buying our ground turkey from Costco. The packages of meat were bigger, so I would make two meals out of one meat pack! My two go-to meals for splitting are spaghetti and tacos! (Although you could do Chili and add extra veggies)

So my split meal is just that! I split the meat and drum up two meals with one meat package and meal prep.

This works best for a family of four with younger kids. My kids are ages six and four and do not mind if their spaghetti sauce or tacos don’t have as much meat. Plus if you start this when they are young, then they are used to eating their meals with less meat as they grow.

I used to crave the excitement of Holiday shopping. There was nothing like the gorgeous decorations, great deals, and shopping around from store to store. The mall looked like a regular old winter wonderland! As always, Holiday spirit filled the air.

Boy, times have changed!! After  having two kids, I now try to avoid anything with an early wake up, large crowds, no parking and a line with more than one person.

Although I love a good deal like the next person, I am skipping the Black Friday and mall lines this year and shopping from home!

My goal is to be stress-free this Christmas. Furthermore, you can too with these simple easy tips listed below!
