Blogging Progress (in the early stages)

One Year Blogging + 5 Best Blogging Tips One year of blogging has come and gone! It has been an amazing ride and I have learned so much along the way! As I move forward, I am really focused and ready and I want to thank all you for joining me thus far!

Blogging is such an amazing journey! I mean, I get to write about a subject I love, SAVING MONEY and make a real connection with people by helping them with budgeting. Nonetheless, I chose personal finance because I have always loved budgeting and bargain shopping and have been pretty smart with my money thus far! (I think Suzie Orman would give my husband and me an A.) We have paid off over $100,000 combined worth of debt (mostly being student loans) because we believe in the value of living debt-free and being smart with our money! Finding a hubby with similar money values was a win-win for me (love ya, hubby).

Blogging is also an awesome side hustle for me since I am a stay-at-home (well I guess I can now be called a work-at-home) mom of two young boys, ages five and three! It has given me a hobby, I can call my own (instead of always being M-O-M – picture someone yelling that loudly about every five minutes – ha!) and I have made a little extra income with my blog, so for that, I am thankful!

If you are interested in starting a blog, check out my free tutorial! Do some soul-searching and find your passion! Then start writing! Honestly, I was so nervous about starting a blog but I am so glad I did! It has been a fun way to stay busy and I love learning about all the fun, creative things you can do with blogging! I would have to say my favorite thing about blogging is creating pins in Canva and writing, of course!

The Genius Blogger's Toolkit 2021

Update: I bought the Genius Blogger’s Toolkit last year and I am still convinced this is the best blogging bundle for your money. This post is an honest review of last’s years Genius Blogger’s Toolkit, but I will be buying it again this year. Why? Because I could buy these classes separately and pay over $5000, or I could streamline my learning process and save a ton of money.

Can you find free information on the Internet?

Yes! But time is money and if you don’t want to spend countless hours searching for answers to all of your blogging questions and how to make your blog better and profitable, then you will find everything you need all in one place for a low price and save yourself the time of searching to find credible information. This toolkit offers so much and you are learning from the “big dogs” that know what they are doing. This was definitely one bundle that did NOT give me buyer’s remorse.

I am still using the information I learned from the Toolkit in 2019.

Blog Training ALERT: Right now the best blogging class sale is going on from October 2-7 ONLY! If you are new to blogging or thinking of starting a blog, you need to at least check this out! What is included: Are you ready to start a blog? Get 94 eBooks, eCourses, and printables on how to start (and grow) an email list, monetize your blog, make eye-popping graphics, handle technical and legal challenges, and so much more. 97% off. 6 days only. Learn more here

Below is a review for the 2017 Genius Bloggers Toolkit. I bought it back then and LOVED it! In fact, I’m still using some of the items included in that purchase today! YES – I got Carly’s Pinteresting Strategies and Blog by Number! I still refer to these classes today!

If you are considering buying the Genius Blogger’s Toolkit 2021, I highly recommend it if you are a new or intermediate blogger!

You get oodles of training for a fraction of the price.

You may be asking why bloggers would practically give away their courses. The main reason is many bloggers want exposure and this toolkit is so popular, they gain many new followers and subscribers, and you get that added bonus of getting there training for a very low price.

Many of these classes alone cost more than the toolkit pice.

So check it out here and stop wasting your precious time, trying to find the answers to your blogging questions on Pinterest.

You can learn from people that have been there and done that.

Check back Sept 22 (I am not allowed to post my links until then 🙂

2017 The Genius Blogger’s Toolkit Review:

Being in the personal finance niche, I always consider all of my options before buying anything. After considering whether to invest in the Genius Blogger’s Toolkit from Ultimate Bundles a book I read called “Eat that Frog” by Brian Tracey came to mind. You see, this book gave me some amazing insight into staying productive and running a business. One HUGE lesson Brian teaches is that once you have found your passion (like blogging), continue to learn as much as you can to become the best at what you do.

Do You Have Enough Time in Your Life?

My time is valuable. I want to soak up every second with my two little boys. They just started school so I don’t see them as much. Yet, I used to spend countless hours searching for answers to my blogging questions. However, I learned EVERY second I waste scrolling through and reading articles that don’t help is time wasted I could have spent with my amazing family. Nonetheless, I am living and learning like all of you – so when I found out a new Genius Blogger’s Toolkit was going to become available through Ultimate Bundles, I jumped at the chance to invest in my blog, knowing I was buying a high-quality product that would truly help me and save time – no more searching the vast Internet for my blogging answers – and money!

Since I was disappointed I missed the Genius Blogger’s Toolkit last year, I was super excited to see it was coming back and even better than before!  However, the only kicker is, this bundle is only on sale for eight days (Oct. 2-7-for 2019 sale). So if you are interested, keep reading my review to help you make up your mind. Furthermore, you will see the pros and cons of this bundle and why I ultimately decided to buy it myself and have been super happy!

Free Guide: How to Rock Pinterest Followers

Pinterest FollowersYes, it is true Pinterest is more like a search engine than an actual social media platform such as Facebook or Instagram. Yet, one of the reasons I love Pinterest is it has increased traffic to my blog and I haven’t paid a dime. It is free traffic so get excited! One of my favorite quotes from teaching states, “If you fail to plan, you plan to fail” – Benjamin Franklin.  This holds true with your Pinterest followers and pinning strategy.

I’m going to start this post by telling you, I am not a Pinterest expert by any means. You can pay $100-200 for a course and learn a lot more than what I am going to tell you! However, my information is free and I will explain how I gained over 5,000 Pinterest followers (update 5900 as of Jan. 2018) and reach anywhere from 50-200 page views a day from Pinterest. These are strategies I have tested, but I continue to learn about this awesome tool that is a must for all bloggers.

Check out my Pinterest Profile here and follow me!

Pinterest is downright frustrating. It is overwhelming and time-consuming, especially when you are new. Yet, if you put in the time, just like anything else, your hard work will pay off. I’m not going to feed your fluff and tell you I gained 5000 followers in a week. This was a solid strategy that took around eight months total. Nonetheless, if you stay with me I will teach you how I did it and how to follow the 80/20 rule, when to pin manually, and how to find your audience.  Also, my post will give you some ideas of what you should be pinning!

How to Start a Money-Making Blog in 5 Easy Steps

Start a blog the easy way

How to start a money-making blog in 5 easy steps
How to start a money-making blog in 5 easy steps

Have you been toying around with the idea of starting a blog? I was right there with you about seven months ago. You see, I am a stay-at-home mom of two boys and I wanted to find a way to continue to be a stay-at-home mom.

I was a teacher for thirteen years but the thought of leaving my kids and going back to work was really hard to imagine. Yet, I knew if I didn’t find a way to make some income, the plan was (and still is) for me to go back to work.

Don’t get me wrong, I love teaching too, but when I went back to work with my first son I was having a hard time juggling the demands of being a special needs teacher and spending quality time with my baby boy.

Not to mention, my son became terribly sick after attending daycare, which sent us into a three-month cycle of ear infections and no sleep. Shortly after, I left teaching and I’m now at home with my beautiful boys.

Life is fun chasing after these two and blogging on the side. I’m making a small income (very small) from my blog, but my hope is to learn more and increase my income as my blogging game improves.

How I got Started Blogging:

Creating a website sounded fun and interesting to me. BONUS – I like to write! However, it is difficult to put yourself out there and get used to knowing that whatever you publish can be read by all (YIKES!).

Truth be told, I had no idea how to start a website, let alone run it and make it pretty (Yes, still working on this). So, it is crazy that I am now writing a tutorial on how you can do the same.

If you are reading this, you are in the same boat I was in a few months back. I was spending countless nights reading blogging “how to’s.”  What I learned…It is a bit intimidating, but it is not that hard! I learned how other people start blogs daily (seriously, there are millions out there) and many bloggers do so while working full-time jobs.

And yes, being a stay-at-home mom is a full-time job but I decided to give it a go and you should too!

If this story resonates with you and you are still toying with the idea of starting a blog, I say go for it. The only way to become a successful blogger is to dip your toes into the water. It will feel amazingly refreshing once you get started.
