If you are a girly girl, getting free makeup sounds like a dream come true! And let’s be honest, if we are buying name-brand makeup it can get pretty darn pricey.
What if you could get free makeup? This would totally make “up” your day! Pun intended!!
And every time I hear the word FREE I get all giddy!
Yes, getting my makeup for free would be the cherry on top of my dark circles and uneven skin tone! HA!
Not to mention, I’m like a kid in a candy store when I walk into Sephora or Ulta. But… then I look at the makeup prices, turn around and walk out (scowl) – that is unless I have a gift card. -thanks, mom!

Rakuten – Formerly known as Ebates, Rakuten is a money-back site that rewards you for doing something you already do: shopping online. Click through Ebates before you shop online and you will receive a percentage back of what you spent. Ibotta – Ibotta is an awesome money-saving app that allows you to receive rebates for stuff you already buy. All you have to do is find your store and search the available rebates for that week. Once you find your rebates, start shopping. Next, send your receipt by taking a picture and uploading it which is super easy. I suggest doing this right when you get home from the store so you do not forget. It is as easy as taking a simple picture and clicking your rebates! If you are like me, you love makeup and see it as part of your self-care routine. In fact, when I had my boys, one daily thing I would do for myself is put on my makeup even if I wasn’t leaving the house. It made me feel like myself again instead of a walking zombie. (Ah, don’t miss those sleepless nights!).
Not to mention, I had acne as a teenager and makeup was my saving grace. I swear if it weren’t for makeup, I might not have gone to school anymore. – ugh, those embarrassing teenage years!
So in today’s post, I’m am going to teach you a few ways to get free makeup so you don’t waste your money. You can feel like a girly girl and stay on budget.

#1 Sephora beauty insider & birthday rewards
Have you signed up for this? You need to! Sephora gives you a lux size (bigger than a sample) name-brand make up. Last year I got free Marc Jacobs lipstick. You can’t go wrong! Just click here to sign up on the Sephora website or sign up next time you are in the store for a “beauty insider” card.
Sephora rewards points
Do you have a Sephora beauty insider card? It is easy & free to sign up. Just ask at checkout and start earning points with every purchase (except for cards). Earn 100 points and get your first reward which can be anything from a deluxe size lip gloss, bronzer or facial cream – all name-brand!
#2 Ulta rewards points & birthday freebie
Ulta also offers a birthday freebie. However, you must sign up before your birthday month. Their freebies change each month so you can look up and see what’s next, but they are often makeup products. Sign u here or next time you shop in an Ulta store.
This same program also gives you points each time you shop. Your points can be redeemed for money off your future purchases. If you get enough points, that equals free makeup for you!
#3 Birchbox rewards
Have you ever tried Birchbox? I was obsessed for a while. Even thigh I’m frugal, it satisfied my makeup fix and was only $10 per month for new name brand lux samples and sometimes full size. The best part – Birchbox allows you to review the items in your box and collect reward points.
I saved mine for a while and ended up getting a full-sized smash box eye shadow palette for around $5 after using my points. It was awesome!

#4 Julep free box
When I signed up for Julep my first box was free and I got two fabulous nail polishes in my first free box. However, Julep has different offers at different times and coupon codes you can use when you sign up to get free makeup. Search Julep coupon codes before you sign up. You can cancel your membership so you are not charged a monthly fee.
If you sing up for their Mavenhaven program you can earn points to get free products and offers.
#5 MAC recycle program for free makeup
Recycle program! Do you like MAC and all their fabulousness? Then you will love this! You can score a free makeup item just by saving your empty make up containers. Because MAC is socially conscious, they promote recycling and reward their costumes! Who doesn’t want a free MAC lip glass? (Free item up to $17.50??)

#6 Free beauty samples by mail
If you are looking to try a product, do a search and see if they offer this. Many companies want you to try their products and if you are requesting it, you are actually making their advertising job easier. Here are a few I have found:
#7 Free beauty samples in store
You just have to ask. Many makeup stores will give you a free sample if you ask one of the store employees. You can also get free samples from stores such as Sephora when making an online purchase. Sephora stores are great about giving you up to three samples so you can try a product before you buy.
#8 Free makeover
Take a trip to the beauty counter Macy’s. Most name-brand make-up counters will give you a free makeover with pricey makeup. I did this once at the Max counter and loved it! I got to try some new makeup and even found some new colors I love. My friend had hers down at Bobbi Brown. This would be great for a special occasion. I recommend calling first to make an appointment, especially for something special.
#9 Drugstore deals
I have gotten a lot of make up this way. I follow Krazy Coupon Lady and find matchups for my makeup and hair color. Most of my makeup dead are through CVS because I like to roll over their extra bucks and they allow extra bucks, retail coupons, and CVS coupons on the same item. It is an amazing way to score free makeup!

Sign up for some beauty boxes and you will get your first box free. Here are some companies that offer this:

- Honest Company (shipping charge)
#10 Cheap makeup
If you love name-brand makeup such as Smashbox, Mac, or Naked by Urban Decay then you will love this tip! It isn’t always possible to get this kind of makeup for free; however, you can get them at a discount if you check these sites often. Macy’s often has name-brand makeup on sale or offers free makeup gifts with purchase. I once got an entire makeup bag of Este Lauder Makeup just for buying an eye shadow at Macy’s, so it pays to check the sales.
Another idea is to check right before Christmas and right after at stores such as Sephora and Ulta. These stores promote makeup sets as Christmas gifts and as it gets closer to Christmas and directly after, put these sets on sale. I got a bare minerals lip gloss/macaca set for $12 and used a coupon to bring it under $10 last Christmas. I also got a set of buxom lip glosses on sale from Macy’s after Christmas and free shipping. The holidays are the best times to find designer makeup on sale.

Makeup can be expensive and it isn’t really a need! I’ve got to admit, I love it and usually don’t leave the house without it!
But why pay high prices when you can get your beauty products for free. Take a little time and do your research and couponing and you will be all set!
