Best Money Quotes Series – #1

Please enjoy my new series: Money quotes! These inspirational quotes will help kick-start your financial goals into overdrive and motivate you to save! My first quote in this series is by financial guru Suze Orman, whom I have followed for years.

Suze Orman - Money quote

For those of you that don’t know Suze Orman, she is a financial guru, New York Times best seller, motivational speaker, magazine colunmist and Emmy award winning television host. She is known for her “Can I afford it” series, where she allows her viewers to call in and learn if they should spend their money on a wanted item or trip. Nonetheless, she teaches people to get their affairs in order including budgeting, investing, retirement, life-insurance, and living wills.

My husband and I used to watch her show together on Saturday nights before we had kids (I know, what a fun date!). Her advice was astounding and really helped us to have some great money conversations and set financial goals as a couple.

Free Guide: How to Rock Pinterest Followers

Pinterest FollowersYes, it is true Pinterest is more like a search engine than an actual social media platform such as Facebook or Instagram. Yet, one of the reasons I love Pinterest is it has increased traffic to my blog and I haven’t paid a dime. It is free traffic so get excited! One of my favorite quotes from teaching states, “If you fail to plan, you plan to fail” – Benjamin Franklin.  This holds true with your Pinterest followers and pinning strategy.

I’m going to start this post by telling you, I am not a Pinterest expert by any means. You can pay $100-200 for a course and learn a lot more than what I am going to tell you! However, my information is free and I will explain how I gained over 5,000 Pinterest followers (update 5900 as of Jan. 2018) and reach anywhere from 50-200 page views a day from Pinterest. These are strategies I have tested, but I continue to learn about this awesome tool that is a must for all bloggers.

Check out my Pinterest Profile here and follow me!

Pinterest is downright frustrating. It is overwhelming and time-consuming, especially when you are new. Yet, if you put in the time, just like anything else, your hard work will pay off. I’m not going to feed your fluff and tell you I gained 5000 followers in a week. This was a solid strategy that took around eight months total. Nonetheless, if you stay with me I will teach you how I did it and how to follow the 80/20 rule, when to pin manually, and how to find your audience.  Also, my post will give you some ideas of what you should be pinning!

How to do Your Housework in 25-Minute Sessions Without Going Crazy

How to do Your Household Chores Fast Without Complete Overwhelm – Cleaning Tips

Clean your House in 25 Minutes

How many of you LOVE housework? I’m picturing all of you with your hands down!

I’m right there with you? After having my second baby, I felt like my house was chronically messy and although I truly believe everyone that says we should leave the house messy and play with our children, I was having a hard time coping with the overwhelm of messiness! I realized I needed a plan to keep a clean house and it needed to be something I would be able to keep up with. However, with a toddler and a baby household chores seemed so overwhelming.

The Science Behind House Cleaning

Woman’s brains perceive clutter differently than men’s. A study from the January Issue of The Journal of Neuroscience from The Princeton Neuroscience Institute states, “Multiple stimuli present in the visual field at the same time compete for neural representation by mutually suppressing their evoked activity throughout visual cortex, providing a neural correlate for the limited processing capacity of the visual system.”

In everyday terms, the more stuff and clutter you have in your home, the more stressed out and less productive you will be. As a result, it is more difficult to focus because clutter is competing for the brain’s attention. This means as a mom, you can never truly relax. Before I read the research, I knew I felt this way often. Now I know why.

So even though I spend a lot of time with my kids, I’ll opt for a clean house too which will help all parties involved because we will save my sanity! You can follow suit with this fool-proof method! Also, the best part is that will only take 25 minutes in the morning and 20 minutes in the evening. That is just 45 minutes a day, broken up into small accomplishments.
